Dr. Henry Greene, founder of Academy Eye Associates, is a 1974 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. His professional interests and experience include specialty work in contact lenses, pediatrics, and vision rehabilitation. As a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina, Dr. Greene teaches residents and directs the vision rehabilitation clinic. He has been a Research Fellow at the Center for Human Development and Aging at Duke University, is involved in several areas of research, and is vice-president of Ocutech, a Chapel Hill firm that develops new vision aids for the visually impaired. He travels extensively to teach new methods for managing the visual needs of the visually impaired. Dr. Greene also specializes in evaluating special needs children and collaborates with the Pediatrics Department at Duke University Medical Center to see children with high risk medical disorders
He is an avid traveler and photographer. His photographs adorn the office reception area.
